Description
Reports to:  Relay Center Manager/NSC Human Resources Manager

Position summary:  Responsible for helping to achieve staffing objectives by recruiting, evaluating and hiring qualified job candidates. 

Essential functions:

• Assists NSC HR with external advertising of job openings.

• Assists in posting internal job openings.

• Assists in seeking sources for qualified applicants upon request.
 
• Accepts, reviews, and evaluates completed applications.

• Recommends applicants for interview based on work history, education, training, job skills, and other qualifications.

• Coordinates and schedules interviews between applicants.

• Oversees individuals performing assessments and performs interviews and assessments when needed.

• Informs applicants and new hires about job duties, responsibilities, wage and benefits, hours and working conditions, company policies and other related information.

• Performs reference checks on applicants work history, arranges applicable tests for applicants job related skills and submits background checks to NSC HR.

• Performs follow-up on applicants not selected for employment.

• Assists in the planning and conducts new employee orientation to introduce new employees to company policies and practices.

• Completes various reporting forms for the facility and forwards to Human Resources Manager.

• Provides input related to prevailing wage rates associated with the area.

• Develops a strong working relationship with company management by assisting with assessing, meetings and forecasting staffing requirements to meet the recruiting needs of the company.

• Participates as an active member in team meetings.

• Stresses quality in every work situation.

• Assists and acts as back up for Human Resources Representative and/or Administrative Support/HR Assistant.


Other responsibilities: 

• Makes recommendations to Human Resources Manager related to the maximization of departmental effective and efficiency.

• Regular attendance that is punctual and dependable is required.

• Must pass Captioning Assistant skill assessments.

• Attends recommended training seminars and strives to expand personal human resource related knowledge.

• Ability and willingness to travel alone if needed.

• Performs similar work related duties as assigned.


Preferred education, experience, and skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• One to three years human resource related experience, or comparable education.

• Ability to use office equipment such as computer, copier, fax machine, and multi-extension telephone.

• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.

• Ability to read, writes, speak, and understand English.

• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

• Prior Relay experience would be helpful.
