Reports to:  Relay HR Generalist II / NSC Assistant Human Resources Manager

Position summary:  Responsible for helping to achieve staffing objectives by recruiting, evaluating, hiring and on-boarding qualified job candidates.  

Essential functions:

• Initiates the process to advertise job openings across multiple channels (e.g. job boards, career pages, social platforms, community contacts).  Develops and assists in seeking new sources for qualified applicants and evaluates the effectiveness of all channels.
• Represents the company at job fairs and promotes Hamilton Relay to potential applicants.
• Evaluates applications and recommends candidates based on work history, education, training, job skills and other qualifications. 
• Coordinates and schedules candidate interviews/assessments.  Oversees assessment process and assigns work to assessors; performs interviews/assessments when needed. 
• Performs reference checks on candidates and submits background checks to corporate HR. 
• Makes job offers and informs new hires about job duties, responsibilities, wages and benefits, hours and working conditions, company policies and other related information. 
• Performs follow-up with candidates not selected for employment. 
• Coordinates and conducts new employee orientation to introduce new employees to company policies and practices.
• Completes new employee on-boarding process by entering new employees into Kronos and completing new hire paperwork.
• Assists and acts as back up for the Administrative Support/HR Assistant. 


Other responsibilities:  

• Attends recommended training seminars and strives to expand personal human resource related knowledge. 
• Completes various reporting forms for the facility.  
• Participates as an active member in team meetings. 
• Stresses quality in every work situation. 
• Performs similar work related duties as assigned. 


Preferred education, experience, and skills:

• Must pass Captioning Assistant or Communication Assistant skill assessments. 
• High school diploma or equivalent is required. 
• One to three years human resource related experience, or comparable education.
• Ability to use office equipment such as computer, copier, fax machine, and multi-extension telephone. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines. 
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. 
• Prior Relay experience preferred. 
• Ability and willingness to travel alone if needed.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
